Squirrels to start the week!
For Starters
It’s Monday. The start of the work week, the school week, the end of the weekend. It’s time to get started surviving another week.
Ah Monday, the day that the weekend wears off and we have to stare at the seemingly insurmountable pile of things that need to get done and soon. Especially now, after a break, as each class passes the homework and expectations and obligations seem to pile up. Everything seems to be settling back to normal. Luckily, we have a Savior that is anything but normal. While Christ can’t take your finals, or write you an essay He does tell us to come to Him when we are weary and burdened, He will give us rest. So, as your week begins to kick into gear, I’ll be praying that you find your rest.

Happy New Year!
If you know me, you know that I am a guy who should have a lot of resolutions. Every year January 1st comes and I have nothing. I wish I had some great moral stance against resolutions, in reality though, I just never seem to be able to stick with them. That and, things I that I should do that are good for me shouldn’t be treated a some wonderful, special accomplishment. I should just do things that are good for me. But I don’t. We don’t. As people we are continually doing things that are bad for us. That’s that sin bug, biting and infecting us. As this new year, and new decade, starts I know that I will make the wrong choice sometimes, and I am happy that I experience that sense of starting something new that comes on January 1st every day through Jesus Christ. The One who makes all things, including me and including you, new.
